 Lawyers in many pract
 ice areas, including pro bono lawyers and nonprofi
 t legal services providers, have clients who may h
 ave diminished capacity. This program will address
  the challenges and ethical issues lawyers face wh
 en representing individuals with diminished capaci
 ty due to conditions such as intellectual and deve
 lopmental disabilities, dementia, and psychiatric 
 disabilities. The panel will explore ethical issue
 s that lawyers must address and offer approaches a
 nd strategies that lawyers may consider in carryin
 g out representation in these circumstances.

  capacity of clients with disabilities through rea
 sonable accommodations and effective communication
